Time

It’s here! Our submission to the 2012 24 hour film-making challenge at the EIFF. We were given 24 hours to write, shoot, edit, and submit this film, and were required to make it a comedy, include the “bag of marshmallows” prop, and include the phrase “You can’t defend the corner route.” Enjoy!

We made it!

For the third year in a row, SSC’s film was screened as a part of the Edmonton International Film Festival! Thank you to everyone who came out and supported us. You guys are THE BEST. No big prizes for us this year, as the competition was REALLY steep, but we’re always happy just seeing our stuff up on the big screen. Congrats to everyone who made it in; all the selections were fantastic this year. Our video will be up tomorrow – we’ll let you know as soon as it goes public!

The Axe-Wielding Knights Of Rock N’ Roll Camelot

With the 24/One screening this weekend, we figure it’s probably time to finally update the site and let everyone know what we’ve been up to lately.  After all, it’s been quite a while since we’ve posted any new videos or tunes or… anything.  Well, that’s because we’ve been hard at work on our TOP SECRET SUPER AMAZING PROJECT. At this point, we’re nearly finished shooting, so why not finally tell the world about it?

Ladies and gentlemen, sometime in early 2013, SSC will be unleashing “The Axe-Wielding Knights Of Rock N’ Roll Camelot” on Edmonton (and, by extension, the world). TAWKORNRC is a “feature-length short film” that follows two medieval knights on a quest to save a kingdom using the power of rock n’ roll. It is every bit as ridiculous as it sounds, and it is going to be AMAZING.

While editing and whatnot will take us quite a while, we hope to have it ready sometime this winter.  We have an amazing cast, an incredible crew, and some really excellent footage so far. In the mean time, we’ll be posting teasers and updates here. Oh, and there’s also the 24/One screening, which is tomorrow night at 7pm. GO TO THAT. We’ll post the video here as soon as we’re allowed to.

EIFF 24/ONE SCREENING

Once again, SSC threw all sanity and decency aside and subjected ourselves to the madness that is 24/ONE, a contest in which we were required to write, cast, shoot, edit, score, and submit a six-minute short film. It’s all worth it, though, because with a little luck, our film will be screened as part of the Edmonton International Film Festival this Saturday night!

Okay, so honesty: we can’t GUARANTEE that we’ll be selected. See, they only show the top ten entries, and they don’t tell you who made the cut in advance. However, we’ve made the cut for the past two years in a row (Josh even won Best Actor last year), and we can objectively state that our latest entry is the best we’ve ever made. We have a very good chance of being shown, and we’d love for you to be there when it happens.

Oh, and uh… the top prize is awarded based on votes from the audience, so we’d really, REALLY love for you to be there. Please? The FB Event is here. Our entry this year is entitled “Time”… here’s a teaser to capture your imagination:
