The rumours are true! The Black Dog has a free comedy show in their basement every Thursday at 9pm, and this week is the Halloween edition, AND we are the musical headliners! There will be costumes! There will be cheap booze! There may or may not be dignity! Come see for yourself!
Also here’s a new video of a new song, I guess!
We’re playing so many shows over the next few weeks that it’s ACTUALLY RIDICULOUS. First up, we’re headlining a free show at the Buckingham on Whyte tomorrow, then Underdog on Thursday, then a headlining slot at the following Underdog, then Empress, then Underdog… Jesus, how is anyone supposed to keep track of all these shows???
Sadly, this year’s entry to the Edmonton International Film Festival’s 24-hour movie-making contest did not make the top ten, but we still think it’s our best entry yet. Check out The Invasion Of Normandy, featuring all the coolest people in the world, as well as a mandatory prop of “confetti popper” and mandatory line of dialogue: “Even mistakes can be wonderful.”
Success 5000 has once again written, shot, edited, and submitted a short film in less than 24 hours for the Edmonton International Film Festival’s 24/One Challenge! The top ten films from the competition are screening TOMORROW (Saturday September 27th) at 11am at the Landmark Theatre in City Centre Mall. The audience decides who wins the grand prize, so you should totally be there!
I don’t know what happened, but we have a bunch of shows all of a sudden! First off, we play TONIGHT at the Underdog Comedy Show (9pm at the Black Dog on Whyte, and it’s FREE). Next is The Success 5000 Number 1 All-Star Comedy Showcase, which is a free show on Tuesday the 23rd that we’re planning at Wunderbar along with our sketch group The Débutantes and a couple of the coolest stand-up comics in the city. Finally, we’ll be performing at Exciting Times on Saturday the 27th at The Studio as part of The Débutantes, which is sure to be a crazy fun time for anyone in attendance. Come to one of these and we’ll love you, come to all of them and we’ll LOVE you.
Our first show went amazingly well, and we’ve got eight more where that came from! Check us out all week at Filthy’s on Whyte, and remember to get your tickets early in case of sell-outs!
Seriously, this is maybe the biggest compliment we’ve ever received. Read it and be giddy like I am right now!
