This is the big one, you guys. We’re going to be releasing a brand new album with all our newest songs, AND we’re also shooting a brand new video! To celebrate, we’re throwing the wildest party ever with our pals The Skips, who are amazing and hilarious. The whole thing is going down at The Citadel (in The Club, which is the coolest), and your ticket gets you a show, a free copy of the album AND a free hot dog. What? YES I SAID A FREE HOT DOG. Click the super rad 3D glasses for more info!
We have a LOT of shows in March, so here’s some of them:
The Débutantes Comedy Cotillion
Saturday, March 7th – 8:30pm at The Mercury Theatre (11315 106th Ave Edmonton)
We’ll be performing sketch comedy with our side project The Débutantes! Also featuring music from The Skips and comedy from Drew Behm!
Empress Anniversary Show Featuring MARK LITTLE
Sunday, March 8th – 8:30pm at The Empress (9912 82 Ave Edmonton)
Mark Little, you guys! MARK LITTLE. This show is definitely sold out, I’m just telling you about it so you’ll be jealous.
The Falstaff Project
Friday, March 13th – 7:30pm at The Artery (9535 Jasper Ave Edmonton)
A Shakespearean performance followed by a night of live music! Come early for the whole show or arrive late and just catch the bands! We’re sharing the stage with the incredible Luke Thompson!
Weird Al Karaoke
Saturday, March 14th – 9:30pm at Cha Island (10332 81 Ave Edmonton)
Comedians write and perform parody songs to karaoke tracks! Plus we’re headlining! This is going to be THE MOST FUN.
Consider this fair warning: we’ll be performing at the Empress Comedy Night’s 1-Year Anniversary Show, which WILL sell out very soon! Why? Because Mark Little of Picnicface and the CBC comedy Mr. D will be headlining the show. Believe us when we say you do NOT want to miss this!
The show is on Sunday, March 8th at 9pm. But you can buy advance tickets RIGHT NOW for fifteen bucks at the Empress. Again, it’ll sell out. It’s already almost sold out. Get tickets fast!
This Wednesday at 8:30, Success 5000 will be performing at The Comedy Nights Of Arcadia at the Arcadia Pub and Vegan Restaurant. Charles Haycock is hosting and the legendary Kerry Unger is headlining, so don’t miss out!
Then next week, Success 5000 will be headlining at On Tap, 9pm on Thursday February 12th! Alex Fortin is hosting so it’s sure to be ridiculous and amazing!
Our sold-out performance at the Vancouver International Sketch Comedy Festival went SO well, we decided to celebrate with TWO shows back in Edmonton this weekend! Catch us at Back Of The Bus, an adults-only fundraiser for a young-audiences theatre production, this Friday at 9pm at the Catalyst Theatre. We’ll be playing a set themed around childhood, but it’ll be raunchy as hell, and that’s pretty much how the whole night’s gonna go down. Alternatively/in addition, you can catch us performing sketch comedy with the Débutantes at Exciting Times, this Saturday at 9pm at the Mercury Room. The lineup for that show is STACKED, including two amazing musical acts and a bunch of hilarious comics, so get your tickets in advance or risk being SO SAD (also advance tickets are cheaper!). Look, the most important takeaway here is that you have two chances to see us this weekend and BOTH of them also have Mikey Maybe on the bill, okay? How could you possibly pass that up?
Success 5000 will be playing at the Vancouver Sketch Comedy Festival on Saturday, January 17th – 7:30pm at the Waterfront Theatre! Tickets are available RIGHT THE HECK NOW. Other highlights of the festival include KEVIN FREAKIN’ MACDONALD FROM KIDS IN THE HALL. Ahem.
Before we leave town, though, we’re gonna do a big kickoff show at Wunderbar with Gossamer Obsessions and Boxcar, two local sketch groups who are also in the festival AND consist of all the funniest people I know. I’m not lying when I say there might be more hilarity jammed into this event than any other show we’ve ever played… possibly any show that anyone has ever played. It’s gonna be NUTS.
Success 5000 will be performing on this month’s edition of E-Town Tonight, an awesome monthly comedy/music showcase that benefits the Youth Empowerment & Support Services here in Edmonton! It’s a Saturday night show in the heart of the Whyte Ave arts district (and right next to friggin’ STEEL WHEELS PIZZA, so there’s that). Come support a good cause!
After that, go do whatever holiday biz you feel is appropriate, but be back in town for January 3rd to catch us hosting the New Year’s Hangover show at the Mercury Lounge! Tickets are $10 in advance or $12 at the door, and you can get them directly from us (just, like, email us or comment on this post or something, we’ll totally deliver and everything).
